Yolo County RCD, alongside Yolo County Office of Emergency Services, is developing a Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP). A CWPP is a collaborative, strategic plan that is developed to reduce wildfire risk at all scales and levels of land ownership. With community input, a CWPP is designed to mitigate and prepare for wildfire risk and recommend actions including fuel treatments, road improvements, evacuation planning, and more. Yolo County Fire Safe Council requests folks living in the high fire areas of rural Western Yolo County attend community wildfire planning workshops on September 14th and September 15th from 6:30 to 8 PM.
For folks living in Capay Valley: Yolo County Fire Safe Council, in collaboration with Capay Valley Fire Protection District/ Emergency Response Auxiliary and ForEverGreen Forestry, is hosting a community workshop meeting on Wednesday, September 14th from 6:30- 8 PM at Grange Hall in Guinda, CA. Capay Valley residents from West Esparto to Rumsey are invited to attend this workshop to provide community input to the Yolo County Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP). This Capay Valley workshop is being offered in English and Spanish.
