The Yolo County Fire Safe Council March 2025 meeting was on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 via Zoom from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm. A recording of the meeting is available at the link below.
The meeting included an action item to approve spending for an arundo control project from the Capay Valley State Highway 16 Fuels Reduction. The Fire Safe Council heard reports from CAL FIRE, Yolo County Office of Emergency Services, Yolo County RCD, and Solano RCD. Tanya Meyer from Yolo County RCD provided updates on fuels reductions projects including shaded fuel breaks along Highway 16, Highway 128, and County Road 34 in Winters. Two upcoming projects in Rumsey and Guinda include thinning in eucalyptus groves and grassland prescribed fire projects.
