In collaboration with Solano PBA, Napa PBA, and the UC Cooperative Extension, Yolo Prescribed Burn Association is hosting a training series to cover prescribed fire basics like fire behavior, fuel types, weather, burn planning, and more. These introductory concepts will help prepare attendees to safely and effectively participate in prescribed fires. This training does not offer certifications and will not contain any live fire components.
The full training consists of two virtual training nights on Monday, August 19th and Thursday, August 22nd from 6-8 PM. These virtual meetings will be recorded for folks who cannot attend, but will need to be reviewed prior to the in-person training day. One in-person field day will be offered in each of the three counties. Folks are welcome to attend any in-person field day that fits their schedule, regardless of county affiliation.
